Einstein OCR for External Services

Note: This is a part 1 of a two-part series exploring how you can consume Einstein OCR in Salesforce External Services.

Einstein OCR Simplified

The JWT based Token Exchange (using a PEM) for obtaining Access Token and the use of Multipart Form Data (as Request Body) makes the Einstein OCR APIs incompatible with Salesforce External Services.

Einstein OCR Simplified (aka Einstein OCR in External Services) exposes easy-to-consume REST APIs (powered by Netlify Functions) for obtaining Access Token and for performing Text Detection with a simplified request body thus making it compatible with Salesforce External Services.

Visit https://einsteinocr.readme.io/reference to understand the available endpoints and how to invoke the same.

Note: Not sure about what External Services are? Take a sneak peek at my previous blog posts – https://shrutisridharan.wordpress.com/category/salesforce/external-services/

What’s Next

In the next blog post, we will learn how to write a Swagger Schema for the simplified API and how to consume the same via External Services in Salesforce.
